So.....? In other words you two couldn't pilot in a fair match to save your lives? We're about to find out against each other. I'll duel you GM vs. GM if you want next time.

Heh. However Ellis, your MS is much better than his and a few ways. In any case, you do indeed do better than him, I have to agree.
*On Van's comment on Ellis' melee combat*
Melee Combat is very effective against ranged weapons. If you can get close enough before taken out, that is. Once your in close, things like Beam Rifles and Launchers are pretty inneffective.
Keep in mind, Ellis, that MS are essentailly tanks, though. They can't do overly much grasping and pushing things.

If the MS can get into close range. In my experience, the mecha trying to close in will likely get the stuffing blown out of it before it can take a single swing.
And don't undercut the value of a ranged weapon in melee combat. An experienced pilot can easily take advantage of their boosters and make some room or just boost behind the target and end it there.
Also remember that a bazooka or beam rifle is just as deadly as heat weapon or beam saber at close range. It takes a lot less time to pull a trigger and fire that to yank out a sword and slash.
(anyone remember the second episode of 0083?)

It's not always healthy to use those up close though, especially that bazooka.

Becuase your likely to blow yourself up too in the process, basically you should self detonate if you plan on using a Bazooka at such close range.

Not necessarily.
You’re as good as dead if you hit your enemy's reactor with a beam weapon anyway (a beam saber has a large kill zone, a greater chance of hiting the reactor with a slash) , and as for a bazooka, it all depends on the range. Sure, you'll take damage, but that's better than being taken out by you're opponent, ne?
As for self detonation, reckless piloting is one thing, suicide is another.
*chuckles quietly*
Wingers....
....
Either way I told Van to use his Tallgeese!
EDIT: I Won either way, good for me.
Winner: Me.
