His vision blurred in mental anguish, Manae watches as Ai attacks with great fury. Unable to hold it any longer, Ai looks in amazement as Manae shimmers and vanishes. He soon realizes the barrier holding him down was a diversion from the true spell, and the play on his perception is complete: standing off to his side a few yards away, Manae has charged his runesword to its Earth element. Sweeping it through the ground, the bedrock begins to tremble.
A cone of fissures quickly erupts from where Manae stands. Spewing large amounts of magma, in the blink of an eye Ai is faced with naught but a wave of lava towering over his head, beginning to crash down.

Ai leaps backwards, away from the massive wave of magma, only to trip into a crater created by a falling meteor. 2 more fall to the Earth. One crashes through the stairway, and the other flies over Manae's head, crashing behind him. Manae closes his eyes from the extreme heat and power of the meteor. Ai leaps into the air from the crater, and begins glowing a dark red. He forms a massive ball of energy, and aims it at Manae. He throws it at him, laughing as it draws near. It suddenly splits into over 20 seperate orbs, and each is hit by lightning, making them split and rupture into massive explosions.
"Hahah!"

<OOC: Heheh, I didn't realize I'd typed this much...>
The intense atmosphere of the crashing meteorite is too much for Manae to bear. The last of his 'good' is singed by the searing heat; his dark side awakens. His hair falls from its knot, hanging in thick whisps about his head; his pupils become small, and the rest of his eyes dark; his normal serene look becomes that of utter contempt for all life. As he opens his eyes, a darkness of such magnitude that it shines as if a light radiates from himself.
Holding his sword horizontally in front of him, Manae embraces the destruction of Ai's attack. From outside, Ai hears a scream, but it is not a cry of pain. Instead, it is pure hatred. Charging his sword with its electrical element, Manae plunges it into the ground, pulling a mass of negative energy towards it, and leaving a positive induced charge at the fortress on top of the steps. Suddenly repeled from where it was aimed while simultaniously attracted elsewhere, much of the energy flies up, leveling the once-proud structure.
As the smoke clears, Ai gets his first glimpse of what Manae has become. As he pauses to contemplate, Manae plays another hand. Throwing his arms up beside him, his eyes go wide as he looks into the air and gives a great cry. The darkness about him suddenly erupts violently, obscuring him from sight. In a flurry, billions of meteors decend from the skies, and the Earth itself shudders in fear of what is going on.
In a chaotic, scorching wrath of the heavens, the end is drawn even closer than it was. Nothing is left now, except a meter-thick plateau of rock, Ai and Manae both standing at opposite ends. Smiling, both of mirth and its lack in a paradoxal emotion, Manae cocks his head to the side and shoulders his sword, staring with one eye at Ai.
Manae spits, and it sizzles into steam before it even hits the magma several meters below.
Is this what you wanted, hmm? Let's make a wager... first one to fall in loses.
Manae laughs deeply, in a jovial, young way un-befitting his dark look.
Not that I plan on falling. You've proven yourself an amateur so far. I'd consider taking you on as my apprentice out of pity, if I wasn't going to kill you...
In so saying, Manae takes a stance with his left shoulder front, grasping his sword with both hands back by his right hip, before charging forward towards Ai with a great cry.

Ai frowns, and clenches his fists. As Manae draws closer, Ai begins shaking, and he falls to his knees. He looks to the sky, and lets open his mouth in a scream, and a horrifying, ghostly green light bursts from his mouth. This is no simple light...This is the light of all darkness in his soul. It leaps into the sky, to be destroyed by the elements surrounding him. He rises to his feet, actually hovering. He begins flashing a white light, and as the meteors begin to fall, almost hitting him, a white light strikes from him, hitting the meteor, vaporizing it fully.
"PATHETIC."
He looks down upon Manae, and floats to the sky, high above him. He smirks, and runs his hand through his hair, wiping sweat from his brow. He summons two massive orbs of energy, and hurls them at Manae, which would fully engulf him and the land he's on.

Ai smiles with satisfaction as exactly what he wanted to happen does: the entire strip of rock is gone as the turmoil clears. His moment of joy is short lived, however, as he suddenly becomes half the man he was a moment ago. As his stomach and legs fall into the burning magma below, trailing intestines and blood along the way, the lava-planet shimmers, but not from the heat. As the last great illusion melts away, Ai can see the means of his pain. Manae stands beside him, on an arch of rock jutting from a rockface in the distance. His sword is still charged with the rock-element that helped create his support.
Like I said, amateur.

Ai smiles, and falls to the lava. As he sinks deeper into the magma, a burst of white light strikes from the sky into the lava, making it turn a blinding white.
"Interesting that you tried to vanquish me in fire. Perhaps you think that fire is a tool of evil? Or what...Whatever the reason, Fire is an element of near perfection, and near holiness. It heals me upon contact. but let me tell you..."
Ai speaks as he rises, and is reattached with his bottom half.
"That hurt like fuck."
As he finished his sentence, he summons several pillars of magma to surround Manae, and create a torrent of lava, hopefully destroying him and the rock he stands on.

To his surprize, the fount of magma solidifies rapidly into stone. In a moment, the top shatters, leaving Manae standing on a pedastal, the only path to which is the old arch. His sword glows a pale, icy blue.
Another mistake, Amateur. Never tell someone your strengths, it leads to them learning weaknesses.
Manae shoves his sword deep into Ai's intestines again, it's icy power cauterizing the wound as it slides in. The runesword was growing quite found of his innards today...

(Um...Out of curiosity...how are you reaching me? I mean, I'm in mid-air, really, about 20 or so feet from you.)

<OOC: A good leap? Twenty feet ain't a lot when I can jump over ten from standing in real life. So, really, it could either just be you floating there with me hanging from a sword in your gut now, or we both can crash happily to the rocks below, ne?>

(Gotcha now, bud.)
Ai wraped both of his hands around Manae's throat, and began to summon a large pillar of fire to engulf the both of them. The heat began to counter the effects of Manae's ice attack, and Ai began crushing Manae's neck fully.
"BASTARD!"

A gurgle comes from Manae's throat as his esophagus and sinews are crushed by Ai's grasp, and a look of horror comes across his face.
As it seems over, Manae quickly takes a calm look and smiles at Ai. As the phantom Manae shimmers away yet again, the real Manae--hanging front the edge of his sword at Ai's back--Swings a leg up, cracking Ai in the temple and causing the sword to rotate within him by ninety degrees. Knowing he can't last in the flames much longer, as soon as his kick landed Manae had gotten back to the runesword's handle. Kicking Ai firmly in the face, he uses this new rotation to 'peal' his sword out of Ai, straight through his chest.
Ramming the sword into the rock pillar, Manae pushes hard off the cliff, sweeping back up to his post with sword in tow. He lands lightly on his ankle.<OOC: I'm just going to keep doing this type of thing until you realize the simplicity of what I'm doing and how to counter it >

Ai, recoiling from pain and his chest wound, lands on a nearby rock, and looks up at Manae, shaking his head.
"Tsk. After-images. How original. If you were more of a physical match for me, I would say it was the mark of a weak man. But you know when beat in an area...and so you take advantage of all the skills you have."
Ai extends his hand, and his sword flies at him, and he catches it. He attaches it to his wrist, and blinks to the staircase, which is only about 50 feet from Manae's position. Ai summons two balls of energy into his palms, and hurls them at Manae. They strike his chest and his back at the same time. Ai summons more, and begins launching them all around Manae.

Ai hears a clap behind him.
What a show, what a show! That guy makes a spectacularly impossible leap, and you waste so much energy in hopes of killing him! Quite enjoyable.
As Ai spins to face Manae, he removes his right arm with a chilling stab.
Now then, accuse me of weakness, while constantly popping into baths of fire to heal yourself? Tsk tsk.
Holding a palm towards him, Manae blasts Ai with a frigid force.
You'll learn yet, Amateur. Your eyes are so easily fooled.

Ai begins laughing as he hears the clap behind him. The balls of energy he had summoned begin to hound the true Manae, following him wherever he may go, assuringly pounding him with immense force. As he falls, He stops himself from hitting the lava. He grows his wrist blade to an immense length, and thrusts at Manae from below, as the balls of energy he'd summoned follow him.

As the energy draws close and Ai falls away, Manae sighs. With a sweep of his sword, the energy balls disperse into harmless heated air that diffuses quickly into the searing atmosphere. The same rounded sweep parries Ai's 'thrust.'
There's a ceartain property of any material. Stretch it too thin...
Manae pounds hard on Ai's sword, and it howls in pain as it buckles beneath it.
...and it becomes weak.
