Oh, no, that's a good thing.
*cracks his knuckles.*
Now Aries can find a way to burn it to the ground.

I'm not saying this because of my feelings toward Koshy or anything related to him, it's just that the poor thing is dying, and should be just left. Not the site so much, mostly the forums.

Some of us started out at G.com. While this bar is kinda nice because it isn't completely flooded with newbies like G.com or AX or GundamWatch (Aries wasn't there, so if Aries is wrong, don't hold it against Aries), the aforementioned were choked with spammers, flamers, newbies, the like. It was, to put it to a word, IRRITATING.
The Mods at G.com and AnimeX eventually used drastic measures to contain them. The MS Pilot Bar once existed at G.com in the form of Luna II, but when that Bastard Malakh shut it down because it was 'irrelevant' and 'took up too much bandwidth', that was the last of it, and most of us, including Aries, left.
It's times like these when you need to read the history of the bar.

You know, nowadays, AX and G.com are very lenient with bandwidth.
Also, I highly doubt it'll be back up. That image is always there when Ben has the site down.
It's simply a filler and I do believe that'll be there for quite a while, at least untill Ben figures out whenther he wants to close it completely or not.

I prefer small, semi-quiet places like MSPB. G.com and AX just got too big and annoying for me. All those freakin, arsemunchers......schizzle. o.o

Gwatch/Animemech never really had 'newbie floods'. My problem with the place is it's too highly regulated. In my opinion, the site's soul has been buried in too many rules.

Sing it MR!
Yeah, I'll never stop loving Animemech... but I'll never go back full time because of the strict rules and formal ambience...

I liked g.com and AX, but there was just too much crap everywhere. G.com's excessive advertisements were a huge part of my beef there. But it was my first forum, and I love it.

I actually visited AX to discover they finally took away my mod powers, and I noticed that the board has gone all to hell. Each topic is random, and has about 4 or 5 replies before it is either totally ignored or repeated. Then only bandwidth wasting topics seem to last there. I don't know what is going on at that board anymore at all. Almost 100% of the good members that weren't banned left right behind me.

Gundamwatch/Animemech/Omega Psi never had a flood of newbies per say. The majority of members in the beginning of said sites were actually Gundam Project refugees that moved to said forums. It was definitely a tightknit community in the beginning, even with all the forum bugs and whatnot, since virtually everyone knows who each other are. I was also very impressed with the way Bots/Jason O set up the moderation and rules, pretty much prepared to kill off any flood of spammers or whatnot that may cause trouble. I will agree this much that the rules have gotten far more strict than when it first began. I sympathise with the whole issue of bandwidth, which was one of the reasons for the regulation of said 'social forums' at the time. On the otherhand, I have to wonder just how truly effective such rules are to the community when you can't even get away with a small hiccup or sneeze. Perhaps that's why I don't feel too bad about the likes of joining G.com, since the forum actually allowed some leeway while the staff that was recently employed actually DISCIPLINED the boards. Besides, for all the annoying newbies and spammers and ignoramices that flooded these parts of the forums, I still managed to get to know some of the real good, real decent members of the community, and there are times when we do get some wholesome topics and conversations going. Of course, it's also fun for me going into the AU and fanfic forums respectively, and smack a few (er... make that many) heads around, which suddenly made those two forums awfully well behaved (when nasty trouble brews, I mod with an iron fist ). Honestly, I don't really have a so-called permanent home in any of those communities. I've had good times and bad times with all the places I ever been to. It's just nice that in all these forums above, there are still some familiar and friendly faces around to bug. ;D EDIT: Speak of the devil, though really no surprise, of the three sites (AM/GW/OP), Omega Psi is shutting down. Considering how little people go to those forums, and how little material it has, I agree they need a different approach.
