Aries's shots blow up the Wing Omega, shredding its armor and reducing it to so much junk beginning to drift into the debris field. Aries's TaurVercus holds up two fingers, jettisons its spent ammo case for the beam machine gun and loads another in. "And that is why one must learn to be humble in combat, because Aries'll always cream you! Okay, one down!" The pilot grins. "Next!!" Retal shows up in the Retaliation Gundam. "'Next' is right here, right now. Do you accept?"

Aries first bangs his helmet against the side of his cockpit, since the Master Aries side of him re-ally can't help himself when people grovel, THEN beg.
Then he opens one eye and looks over at the Retaliation Gundam.
"Ooooooooooooooh."
His grin licks up across his face.
"Y'know, if Aries accepts, then kills you, Aries'll have to have Leebie paint two Gundam head silhouettes on his fuselage..."

I've got too many rank-and-file kill markers on my suit as it is. No one's going to notice one falisified kill marker, as I'm still going to kill you. So, what's your answer? Do you accept?" Retal simply grasped his control sticks, awaiting the response...

"You never had any doubt in your mind Aries would. Aries would feel bad to disappoint you."
He grins, then hits his thrusters, pushing the TaurVercus down and forward at the same time, the verniers blazing.

"You never had any doubt in your mind Aries would. Aries would feel bad to disappoint you." He grins, then hits his thrusters, pushing the TaurVercus down and forward at the same time, the verniers blazing. OOC: Just too be clear, since I don't have time to backtrack the topic, we're in space, right? IC: Retal simply smiled. "At last, something new." As Aries came at him, Retal opened up the left forearm 90mm gatling and pumped out a five-round burst at the TaurVercus while deploying his four fin funnels...

Aries pulls a quick shot-stop, halting in space, then rolls back on his y-axis, to where the TaurVercus is no longer pointed down and away from the Retaliation, but UP and away.
He ignites his thrusters again, burning away from the 90mm shot, coming back up in a shallow arc towards his original position.
All the while, his aiming reticle settles up on the Gundam's head and shoulders, then locks red. The TaurVercus raises its shield, pointing its base at Retal, then pulses out two missiles from the launchers inside.
"One-one-thounsand, two-one-thou..."
He cranks off two more in mid-count.
All four take a second to orient in and lock homing on the Gundam, then burn in at it. Aries frowns, as the Gundam continues to deploy its funnels.
Aries isn't a straight-up Newtype, but Aries thinks that a maneuver like that would demand the pilot's complete attention for a few seconds, as would maneuvering them, he thinks to himself. Seconds he doesn't have with those missiles on them. Even if he burns the first two, the second salvo'll burn 'im before he can reorient...Aries might be able to slag him like that...if not, there are contingencies...

OOC: Yes, but Aries forgot one little thing... IC: The instant that Aries was launching his missiles, Retal sensed the danger, and his fin funnels reacted instinctively to protect him. All four fin funnels opened up and generated the beam barrier, the missile volley pounding hard against it but doing no damage to either the Retaliation or it's fin funnels. Hmm, a novice mistake. Clearly Aries has not fought many newtypes, or he would have realized that fin funnels respond to a newtype's unconcious mind as well...hmm, let's find out how good he is.Retal sent out a mental command, and the last two funnels- leader funnels- ejected themselves from the Gundam's back and raced straight for the TaurVercus, one heading in from above, the other from below. Retal performed a lazy backflip, using this position to draw his 100mm machinegun, and he trained it on Aries, but didn't fire it yet... Newtypes control funnels with only a single thought. Once that thought is made, the funnels will do what they are told...

Aries, however, had never taken his foot off the gas, so to speak.
Boring on ahead in Mobile Suit mode, Aries shakes his head, since Retal, while guessing correctly about his abilities in league with Newtype experience, completely missed the more obvious.
While the leader funnels trail in at him, Aries throws the TaurVercus into High Output mode, the entire Mobile Suit lurching into a more compact fighter, a design many of the TaurVer dynasty had kept from their parent design. While narrowing the war machine's profile, it also locked dynamic and hydraulic systems into place, along with a custom-designed alternate fuel system unique only to the TaurVercus.
While Aries himself revelled in the actual mechanics, the end result was that while the Mobile Suit was deadly enough before, it had more speed than it could honestly burn now.
A roll in space as the TaurVercus locked into High Output mode pointed its nose directly down at the Retaliation Gundam, an ignite of the thrusters pushed it forward, zipping between the two leader funnels and towards the Gundam.
Aries, however, sees and anticipates the 110mm machinegun and begins opens fire with his own beam machine gun as he clears the leader funnels, his left hand switching from his control stick to the more complicated thruster control pad, ready to pull an unprecidented move if Retal reacts the way he thinks he will.

Retal just stands behind his beam barrier and watches as the beam machinegun fire simply dissapates against it. He shakes his head. "Newtype weaponry of the era this suit was designed in gives me some very overpowering capabilities. Allow me to show you the most interesting of those." Retal flips a switch, and the psychoframe system activates a hidden sub-control network hidden in the Gundam's wiring and computer circuitry. It was no different than the technology used to control funnels, only it was displayed on a MUCH larger scale. And on the flipside, the Gundam's back suddenly splits apart, and the Retaliation's Core Fighter seperates from the Gundam and snaps it's nose into the proper forward position. And with one little thought, the twin leader funnels snapped back around and headed right for Aries's new position. Retal banked the core fighter to the right, then opened fire with the core fighter's beam machinecannons, with one fin funnel zipping around the core fighter, shooting 10 MW beams at Aries as opportunites arose... Welcome to your worst nightmare, Aries. Believe me, your fancy transformation mechanism is more of a liability than a help to you.

"Spit!!!"
Aries hits his thruster control pad, the thrusters on the underside of the TaurVercus firing, pitching the craft into a backward y-axis spin, bleeding off kinetic energy as he pitches not only backwards, but downward from his position, throwing off the Core Fighter's shots. The leader funnels rocket on ahead of him, and the funnel shots miss, but he doesn't get a chance to see if they managed to skewer to Core Fighter before he fires off again, orienting this time towards the mammoth mining sattelite at his nine o'clock, sideslipping this way and that.
Aries knew there was a reason he came up with this contingency! He glances back over his shoulder at the Retaliation to see if he's dropping into his aft yet, then wets his lips. Okay, tough, yes, but he can still be beaten...all the hardware in the world won't matter with this next...
The TaurVercus continues on its erratic flight path, shooting in towards the old mining sattelite.

"Hmm, a race? Been a long time since I simply raced someone...this'll be interesting. Funnels, Retaliation, deploy!" His mental command was sent, and all the fin funnels and leader funnels returned to the racks on the core fighter. Retal charged up every thruster the core fighter had to their maximum and pumped in the throttle, rocketing towards the same satellite Aries was, intending to beat him to it. The Gundam itself flew towards the satellite as well, although at a much slower speed because almost all of it's main thrusters had come from it's core fighter... As G forces slammed him back in his seat, Retal smiled as would a preditor stalking prey. What they don't understand about the Retaliation is that she was not designed for dueling. She is a suit designed for war. She just happens to be good at dueling too...Retal's core fighter attatched itself to Aries's stern and stayed there for a bit, riding his butt and pumping reg. beam gun shots at him all the way to the mining asteroid...

Aries grits his teeth, his speed keeping him well out in front of the Core Fighter, putting the Fin Funnels to shame and just plain insulting the Gundam itself. His sideslips throw Retal's shots off his tail, but his flight plan is anything but completely random.
Snapping his craft up onto its starboard wing to avoid another potshot was a dodge, yes...but with ulterior motives...
Aries looks down and checks his board, his sensors, and sees the pockmarked surface of the mining sattelite rushing up at him.
"You think this is a race?!" he yells into the comm. "You're absolutely right!!!"
The surface of the sattelite swells to fill his view of the cockpit, making it appear as though he intends to bury his craft's nose in the dirt of a worthless space rock.
Instead, as the fighter snaps back down from vertical alignment to horizontal alignment...and into a half-collapsed ingress chasm that trails into the sattelite too narrow to admit the Gundam itself...does his purpose begin to clear.
Just inside the shaft, Aries immediately tilts his port wing up to avoid a collapsed barrier of superstructure, snapping on a collection of floodlights, beginning to make his way into the old mines inside the sattelite, checking his rear sensor arc to see what is fortunate enough to give him chase.

The core fighter gets close enough to see the chasm, and Retal miles. Too small for the Retaliation to fit, perhaps. But, alas, I have much more weapons at my disposal.Retal deploys both leader funnels and the fin funnels, who deployed their beam barrier around the leader funnels to ensure that they get to their destination. Once they arrived at their destination, the fin funnels switched from defensive to offensive mode, blasting 10 MW beams into the chasm for a few seconds in a bombardment pattern. Then, the leader funnels open up, and they unleash Retal's most used and most feared weapon by all those who have ever fought his creations, the leader funnels. A an inflating ballon the leader funnels opened while the fin funnels provided cover fire, their side panels flipped outwards like pedals of a flower. Ad flowing like nectar was a pink, gaseous cloud, electrically charged plasma very similar to that used by the Adzam and the Val Varo, and into the chasam did the plasma go as the funnels retreated, and if Aries didn't have a way out of there, his suit would be disabled, as the plasma was designed to overload MS power sytems. Either I win, or you get flushed out, Aries. Retal though just as he saw the Retaliation Gundam finally get within combat range of the satellite. But no matter which option happens, this is one battle you are not winning. Adios, mi amigo.

Aries hears his sensors go off, reading an encroaching plasma anomaly.
"Unexpected, but not as if one can't deal with it..."
Remaining calm, Aries comes out of the main shaft into a huge chasm with trailing leads to dozens and dozens of other mine shafts, indicating that there are more ways into and out of the sattelite than could be previously guessed.
Aries, however, is not willing to chance one of the shafts, and is rather adverse to actually burying the nose of his craft halfway into a collapsed mine shaft.
A roll brings the nose of his craft to point upwards at the top of the shaft, which is rigged with what looks like elevators, decayed walkways, and other buildings.
Below, the plasma begins to leak into the main chasm out of his original mine shaft.
Aries looks up, then taps his trigger once, sending out a burst of beam fire which burns into the far wall of the cavern...and slags most of it.
Atmosphere on the other side vomits out, pushing into the chasm as Aries lances up into what had been one of the inhabited areas of the sattelite. He immediately cuts his speed to avoid smashing into the rock ceiling above him, then gets a bearing of his surroundings...first by looking down, of course.
Jesus, Aries can't even see the bottom of this thing...God knows how far down it goes...and the atmosphere will likely push whatever plasma got up here down a little...and Aries doesn't know how much 'ammunution' those things hold, but it certainly won't be enough here...
He frowns.
Which means that he just cut off his most expedient entryway to get to Aries...which makes for a game of cat and mouse in here.
He swallows, then begins calling up a sensor report to get an idea of what some of the other tunnels look like.
Not exactly what Aries had in mind, but not bad, uyh...
