I'm suprised to see a thread about this hasn't been up yet. Anyway, it came out recently, what did anyone who say it think of it?
I liked it, though, the ending was kinda lame and left open ended leaving room for a 4th matrix. My favorite part was a no brainer though, those APU's. OMG I need one so bad! A model at least.

I think they did a decent job on it. I concur on the ending being lame. The APUs are kickass!

APU's!!!
*grins.*
Well, Aries discussed this in his Creative Writing class today...it's possible that the Wachowski Bros. let the success of The Matrix go to their heads, and thought, "Oooh, public likes it, we can do whatever the hell we want to now!"
Despite the fact that they're visionaries, The Matrix was only their second movie, you have to remember. There'll be special editions in years to come, however, and maybe they'll clean it up as the years go on.

I thought it was pretty good, better than Reloaded anyway. I don't think they left it open-ended at all, though. While many things weren't properly wrapped up, I don't think it is possible to make another sequel given the ending. The fight scenes were spectacular! Any fight scene in any live-action Dragonball movie must match or top the final bout between Neo and Smith.
Oh yeah: APUs ROCK! WOOT! ;D

I haven't seen it and am probably not going to see it since I'm not really interested in it.
Also, APU's are the worst designed mechs I have ever seen. "Oh yeah, let's have the pilot openly exposed."

Yay! I get to be the first one to say I DIDN'T like the movie.
Reasons:
1. The DBZish fight scene. It is the Matrix NOT DBZ sure there will be the slow motion and long jumps and all that stuff, but the fight between Neo and Smith went overboard.
2. The APUs. Aside from the fight between them and the sentinals looking like a PS 2 game I agree with Gojira. The are the worst designed things ever.
-----------------------------Spoiler-----------------------------
3. Not enough time takes place inside the matrix and dealing with some of the things from the second one. For example the Merrylingen (sp?) only plays a small part at the beginning of the movie when he is made to give Neo back from the train station between the machine realm and the Matrix. I thought he was great character. Does he get absorbed by Smith? More importantly I wanted to see more of his ghost twin people.
4. I didn't like the overall plot of this one as much, I thought it had only action no actual good storyline.
5. If EMP can take out so many sentinals. Why don't the freakin' moron humans just set some up as booby traps from remote detonation in all those caves. They could have taken out so freakin' many sentinals so easily without firing a shot and just kept all their ships and Mech's in the dock and had even more guns to bear when whats left gets there.

My friend loved the movie and I DID say that they got insparation from DBZ on some fights.
You have to understand, the APU's were built basicly from scraps. Anyone here would be prowd to own one.

*Spoilers ahead; Read at you own risk*
Triyun, you're not the only one who feels this way. I liked the odd DBZish fight in the end, and I am not quite as miffed about the APUs as many others I have talked to, but I totally agree when it comes to everything else.
Really, what is with the short time in the Matrix? We don't get to see Smith go around and infect everyone, and with only those few piddly scenes, why would the machines coopoerate with Neo? Smith may have pretty much absorbed everyone in the Matrix, but I really don't see the big threat he poses to the machines. It would've been much nicer if we actually see some problems happening in the machine city. As it is, only Zion was really screwed.
Related to time in the Matrix... the whole train station was a complete waste of time. I mean, getting Seraph's help, and confronting... meh, wtshisfacewiththebadFrenchaccent, I was left with a feeling of 'that's it?'
There are many holes when it comes to the logic of machine warfare. Frig, I also would've thought of using a few EMP traps on those sentinels. I also would've at least incorporated some heavy weaponry other than those machineguns. For instance, those little missiles, or the little lightening guns. ANd frankly, why would the machines send a bunch of Sentinels to attack Zion? You'd think the machines in all their technological glory would've used traditional weapons like bombs, missiles, and whatnot, but no. They used their BODIES as fodder for the APUs. Still overwhelming and all, but not very efficient.
The ending was not unexpected, considering the life of the programs in the Matrix, as well as all the information gleaned from the Animatrix and Reloaded. It was the Wachowski Brother's intention to bring peace between the machines and humans. However, considering the lack of tension, and the fact that the machines had Zion against the wall, and many other odd things, this... doesn't seem right. I would think that only a few machines and/or programs actually sympathise with the humans, much like how some humans sympathised with the machines in The Second Rennaisance. With an army of machines that big, and how much the majority HATE the humans, I wouldn't have stopped the attack, unless the machines themselves have their backs against the wall.

*does the Matrix Dance*
Hurray for Revolutions! While there were things that they left open, and there were things that didnt always make sense, I'd have to say it was, overall, well-done.
BTW, Naz will probably post like 300 times in this thread when he gets his i-net connection back.

You know that they had a limit of ships. Of the two they had, one went to the base and the other to machine city. I saw it just a few hours ago and i think it was also well done. Somethings weren't necessary but it left off where the 2nd ended and ended the triliogy with an atleast satisfying ending.

I mean, getting Seraph's help, and confronting... meh, wtshisfacewiththebadFrenchaccent, I was left with a feeling of 'that's it?' The Merovingian. The dude's name was The Merovingian. Jesus Christ, how many times does Aries have to keep TELLING people that?!!

Plus that, did anyone else notice that there were NO bullet-time circly-bullet-trails in Revolutions?
Meh, the critics would have said they were trying to capitalize on that too if they had 'em there...oh, well...

Lack of resources perhaps. I mean, most of the vehicles they had were probably antiques that they dug up.
