Guess not, they're just based off of historical figures. Which kind of makes sense, every great literary figure is. Sherlock Holmes was based off of Doyle's teacher in Medical School.

I'll have to bring this up with my English teacher. One of the parts of our exam is identifying real people in historical fiction.
