*Seated in the cockpit of his Taurus Full Vernian Custom, also known at the TaurVerCus, Aries rubs at his eyes before looking back out again over the Volga River and the city of Moscow. He sighs, then rolls up one sleeve of his heavy jacket to look at his watch.*
C'mon, Vannie, let's get this over with...
*He sighs again, then closes the hatch on his cockpit and begins preflight to get some warmth back into him again...*

The exit hatch on the rear of it opens slowish and then, when it is open, a large white and grey Mobile Suit is dropped.... The Lightning still in the slipstream of the transport seems to be flying with no throttle at all but is slowly losing altitude.... "Time to try this out against that for the first time!" *The main booster hatched open and emit a bright white glow for a few seconds before blasting off torwards the battlegrounds.....*

*Aries slides his ring off his finger, trying to get some feeling back into it, when his proximity sensors go off. He goes on about his business, already anticipating Vannie, and he knows exactly what he's going to do. The fact is, though, the next move he makes is probably going to help engineer his quick downfall.*
*The most he does, however, is walk his TaurVerCus south a little ways, then stops.*
C'mon...

Then I let off a short burst from the 100mm machingun at the Taurus as I pull upwards and up into the clouds....*

*Aries looks, up, then quickly grabs his sticks and pulls his TaurVerCus to the left, the rounds cutting into the snow where he had stood.*
Okaaaaay...maybe not...
*Not letting go of the control sticks this time, though, he continues to wait.*

I tumble down through the sky and I align the suit to point directly to the ground as I continue to fall.....with my Dober gun and suit arms tightly closed in next to the suit's body....*

PUBLIC USEModel Number: NEF-22 Code name: Taurus Full Vernian Unit Type: High Mobility Transformable Mobile Suit Manufacturer: NeoEllis Incom Pilot: Dark Aries Rollout: 2002 AD First Deployment: 2002 AD Accomodation: pilot only for standard Mobile Suit type, in standard cockpit in torso Dimensions: head height 16.8 meters Weight: Empty 8.9 metric tons; max gross weight unknown Construction and Armor: Titanium alloy/Neo-Titanium (torso area) Powerplant: ultracompact fusion reactor, output rating 1900 kW. Fixed Armaments: 90mm Machine Gun, 2x, mounted in shoulders (facing forward when in High Output Mode); beam saber, 2x, in hip storage racks. Optional Hand Armaments: Beam Machine Gun, 1x; Shield, 1x (with 6x RPGs plus 2x launcher inside shield). IC: *As I continue to fall, I bring up the right arm of the Lightning up with it holding the Dober Gun handle, then I lock onto Aries position and fire 3 shots in a triangular shape. One shot behind him, one to the front left of him and one to the front right of him, but close enough to hit him, but not close enough to hit him directly, only enough to rip his suit's parts off......*

Fixed Armaments: 90mm Machine Gun, 2x, mounted in shoulders (facing forward when in High Output Mode); Vulcan Guns, 2x, mounted in shoulders (facing forward when in High Output Mode); beam saber, 2x, in hip storage racks. Optional Hand Armaments: Beam Machine Gun, 1x; Shield, 1x (with 18x micromissiles plus 3x launcher inside shield). Aries is using the TaurVerCUS, not a TaurVer Mark-I. IC: *Given the sequence of the shots, the height of the Lightning, and the time it would take for the blasts to transverse the distance between the Lightning and the ground, Aries has no trouble at all in stepping out from under the third shot after the first one hits and melts snow. The second one hits the snow as Aries brings his hand to his throttle. And he brings it to one-quarter reverse as the third one melts the spot where he had been.* *Sighing, he looks up at Vannie.* Did you EVER take elementary physics?!

OOC: I am only in my 3rd year at high school ya know, and by the way. An object falling increases speed, so the shots would of been quicker than if fired at a halt. IC: *As Aries moves a simple manouver, I bring the dober gun and right arm in next to the body tightly... Then I engage the main booster's and increase the accerleration by 4.0 g's and keep boosting down increasing my speed dramitically before pointing the feet and lower leg sections backwards... I engage the feet booster's thus spinning my suit pitch to come upwards and I de-activate them when the booster's are near to pointing directly down, thus bringing my suit to level..... I quickly bring the main booster's to point at near horizonral so it pushes me forward while keeping the same altitude after loosing the decent in a few seconds..... I boost along at a low altitude going right past Aries (a fair distance) at an acceraleration of 6.0 g's before spinning round to face the rear of the Taurus before firing off a few rounds from the head vulcans.... Then I boost directly upwards.....*

*Though Van does have something of a quick suit, it doesn't match for his not-so-quick mind. As he comes in around behind him, Aries wonders how much longer he's got to humor him, then boosts upwards as he hits his head vulcans.*
*Both suits are now moving paralell for a moment.*
*The TaurVerCus, however, still has its back to the Lightning. Matching Vannie's speed, he hits his port thrusters, putting the TaurVerCus into a barrel roll. After two revolutions to confuse Van, he hits his starboard thrusters and comes face-to-face with the Lightning, raises its shield, and slams the butt of it into the Lightning's torso, about where a human's solar plexus would be. In other words, right under the cockpit.*

IC: *As Aries comes round and boosts in I simply open the left booster hatch horizontally to push me out of his path, but not far enough to get Aries out of range of my suit..... I quickly bring my suit to Aries speed and at the same time I throw the 10mm Machinegun away to the side while withdrawing my Beam Saber, and then I un-moun quickly the shield and hold it in my suits left hand... By now Aries would be at the point nearly next to me trying his attack but not hittting me since I am to the right of him..... Then I send my shield pointing upwards (so it's like _ instead of ) or ( ) and into Aries's Taurus's head and I attempt to jam it in the Taurus, while a second later I follow it up with a strike from my Beam Saber into the torso of the Taurus.....*

A couple of thoughts, Steel. First, define 'fair distance'. It can mean long distance, medium distance, whatever. Second, and this is where Aries is pretty much getting you at, is the fact you fired those head vulcans at that 'fair distance'. Head vulcans don't exactly have incredibly long range; medium to short range is where it's typically at. In other words, one would assume that by using those head vulcans, you are not that far off from Aries, giving him ample time to come close, and crack your mobile suit's abdomen.

I see your point Aegis. But even so, the vulcan's in my suit's head are still capable of long range, eventhough their accuracy will be not that good.

...and thus lies a few problems. First, the stats on your Lightening never indicates that the head vulcans are capable of long range, only that they are simply head vulcans mounted on the head. Second, even with the justification, this is where basic physics comes in: you know head vulcans don't have great range when you consider where and how the weapon is mounted. It's not mounted on a gun with a huge barrel, but on two little holes on the head. You know a weapon has good range when one of the factors, the length of the barrel, is long enough to through a shell at huge distances, and head vulcans don't exactly have long barrels, nor are the shells propelled like missiles. Third, if the vulcans are gonna be inaccurate in long distances, why are you firing it in the first place? The bullets will either spread and/or drop to the ground quicker due to gravity and friction, and right there you would've wasted so many bullets because you were too far. The dobergun would've faired better since it at least has the long range needed. At least if you used that, then your reasoning of the Lightening being a 'fair distance' would've stood better. As it stands, you boosted passed Aries, spun and fired the vulcans, then boosted upwards. That statement tells me you're far enough to be noticed, but not very far off to get caught.
