After Ellis took his shot he continued his upward ascent (avoiding the Avenger shot), before long he might even make it to the other colony wall, if he stayed on this course anyway.
"Even a Newtype can't predict the future." said Ellis with a smirk.
The Sarena dashed 60 meters or so to the left, now about 80 meters from Retal, firing two more shots. The right missile pod opened, but then closed.
"No, better save it...."

The Sarena dashed 60 meters or so to the left, now about 80 meters from Retal, firing two more shots. The right missile pod opened, but then closed."No, better save it...." Retal easily dodged the twin shots, then sensed a sudden surge of danger, then got confused for a moment as the feeling dissapated. Hmm, he's conserving weapons, smart. Had he been fighting something else aside from this Gundam, that is.After straightening out of the barrel roll he used to avoid Ellis's first two shots, Retal boosted straight into the center of the colony, where gravity was null. Of course, the size of the Gundam was large enough that gravity tugged on it, but at that point, the pull of gravity was so weak that even the Gundam could float there without thrusters for a good twenty minutes before it even descended. Either way, Retal was ready to play. The four fin funnels attatched to the Gundam's back launched, and traced the line of flight of Ellis's unit. Two tracked their fire ahead of Ellis, two fired straight at him, and all the while, Retal simply opened up the beam machinecannons and started pumping beams above Ellis's position, intending to ground him.

"Hmm."
Ellis reflexively changed his direction of movement to the right, back flipping, hitting the engines and narrowly escaping the funnel shots. Now "upside down" relative to Retal, Ellis quickly closed the gap, about 25 meters under the Gundam, Ellis fired four shots at it's feet and back.
“Not much to worry about with those beam machine guns at least, just scare tactics....”

Meanwhile, moving with the instinct to protect the Gundam, the four fin funnels raced on, continuing to fire beams at Ellis, spreading out in a box formation. Retal drew his 100mm machinegun and loaded the clip as he awaited Ellis's next move.

Ellis dodged each of the funnel shots with a few good old fashioned well timed thruster bursts, taking a some shots at two of the funnels. Absorbed in the mirth the Aestivalis' perfect responces, Ellis let out a good natured laugh.
"Hahaha! Ahh.... Now I wonder if Aries and Steel are having as much fun?"
Ellis took of after Retal once more, traveling in a wide right leaning arc.

Retal muttered as he felt Ellis's attention shift for a moment, and it didn't take a genius to figure out why or where. The four fin funnels came together for form the beam barrier again, and Retal tracked his fire along Ellis's course, pumping a stream of bullets at Ellis from the 100mm machinegun...

Ellis allowed a few of the bullets to make contact, they wouldn't phase the Distortion field to much.
"Yatta. Ringo, desho?"
Ellis increased the acceleration and began moving vertically, firing off 5 of the smaller micro missiles, just to mix things up.
(OOC: It was a little unclear, did you're funnels avoid the shots I took at them?)

(OOC: It was a little unclear, did you're funnels avoid the shots I took at them?) OOC: Yes they did. By forming the beam barrier, the shots were deflected by the barrier. IC: Retal opened up with his vulcans, detonating all five micro missiles before they got very far. Retal then moved horizontally until he was under Ellis, then he raised his 100mm machinegun again and finished off his first clip as he sprayed rounds at Ellis's suit...

Actually, just having a minovsky fusion reactor turned on will spread the particles, just a bit of info for you all.

Actually, just having a minovsky fusion reactor turned on will spread the particles, just a bit of info for you all. OOC: No it won't. Minovsky particles are NOT emmitted by the reactors. They burn helium-3 to realease energy, and minovsky is a byproduct of this reaction. MS do not vent minovsky on their own, although I wish they did, because then I could the perfect design idea for the Cerebus...

Ellis grinned as the beams smashed into the two funnels, crippling or destroying them.
"Gravity beams are not Minovsky particle based, they cannot be blocked by an I-Feild."
Ellis' DF again took a few hits from the 100mm, most were avoided, however, as Ellis moved sharply to the left, firing four more shots at either side of Retal.

OOC: Umm, beam barriers block ALL weapons fire, they are NOT I-fields. That is a fact. IC: Retal simply pointed his UBP's backwards and ignited them, catapulting him forward and dodging the attacks. He then turned and boosted forward, heading directly for Ellis's unit. He rasied the machinegun and fired off a ten-round burst from a new clip, while holding the combined beam rifle in his other hand... The fin funnels backed off, and the leader funnels deployed, heading for Ellis...

I don't seem to remember Beam Barriers being used by Any MS in any Gundam Series.

I don't seem to remember Beam Barriers being used by Any MS in any Gundam Series. OOC: Nu Gundam, Char's Counterattack. The Beam shields used in V Gundam and it's ilk are upgraded versions of the beam barrier.

(OOC: It is a FACT that the Retaliation Gundam is registered as using I-Fields, not Beam Shields.)
"Getting into close combat is not your wisest of options...."
With two quick boosts to the left and left again, Ellis was directly behind Retal, this was no surprise considering the Black Sarena' size (half that of the Retaliation’s), it's feather weigh and speed. Ellis, now only 15 meters or so behind Retal, fired.
