(OOC: It is a FACT that the Retaliation Gundam is registered as using I-Fields, not Beam Shields.) OOC: Actually, no it's not. That's the old profile. Before I learned that the fin funnels are generating beam barriers instead of I-fields. Had Mark Simmons not mentioned that, I would have never known. Those fin funnels are the exact same as that of the Nu Gundam. Therefore, they generate the same field. Either way, the fin funnels have backed off. IC: Retal sensed Ellis's maneuver. Retal smiled as Ellis made his first mistake. And his last one. Retal fired off his verniers to bring him paralell to Ellis, then he raised the beam rifle, still set in its wide-beam mode, and fired, knowing that at this range, getting out of the way is going to be very hard, even for such a nimble suit. Meanwhile, the two surviving fin funnels arced back in from the flanks, blasting off beams at Ellis from either side of him...

Beam Barriers can be broken by weapons of higher mW output, obviously. As can Beam Shields.

(OOC: Just for future reference, it doesn’t matter what you learned later on. If you haven't up dated your profile then the stats stay. If you say that produced I-Fields then they produced I-Fields.)
It would be very hard to dodge and attack at such range indeed, especially for a mecha of lower speed and maneuverability. Before Retal could raise his beam rifle, or fully complete his turn for that matter, the gravity beams had undoubtedly made contact with the Retaliation’s torso....

(OOC: Just for future reference, it doesn’t matter what you learned later on. If you haven't up dated your profile then the stats stay. If you say that produced I-Fields then they produced I-Fields.) OOC: I know, which is why I accepted the two funnels being destroyed. Until I can update its profile, anyway. Of course they can. That was never in question here. If I wanted to debate that point, I would have never accepted the two fin funnels being destroyed. IC: The twin gravity beams raced in, but only one of them hit, the second passing behind the Gundam. The first one tore through the front of the Retaliation's torso, tearing away armor like it was nothing but paper, but the Gundam remained functional to a degree. (OOC: Even if it hadn't survived, Ellis, the funnels are still coming at you, and my attack occured paralell to yours, as I sensed the danger coming from your attack and reacted as you were coming around. Only one thought is required to send the funnels after you, even if you destroy the Gundam, they would still come after you.) With the last bit of power the Gundam had, seeing as Ellis was sitting dead-still, the arm still raised, and the arm still fired the attack (and no matter how maneuverable your suit is, a beam is far faster, especially at that range). Then Retal seperated the core fighter from the deadstick Gundam and began a verticle climb...

*Aries, however, is not quite dead yet.*
*He shakes his head, his hand resting on his throttle, with the Wing Zero Omega's flak coming inbound.*
You MUST be joking.
*Instead of standing there and letting the rounds impact about him, which he's sure they will, what with how poor a shot Vannie actually is, he throws his throttle immediately to full and is slammed back into his seat with the force of it. The Engrish shoots forth along the ground, the rounds slamming into the grass behind it, as it rockets in towards the Zero Omega, its verniers singing the grass behind it.*

Wow, Retal, too bad I wasn't around, I coulda helped out with this fight... *sniffle* Pfft. I ain't out of the fight yet, Libra. If either Aries or Ellis thinks that the Retaliation Gundam was finished by that last attack, they are in for a pleasant surprise. But still, it would have been nice to have you at my side. Next time, Libra, next time...

Ellis grunted as the beam shot through the Distortion Field, and ripping of the Sarena's head. The two funnels, their attacks spent on weakening the DF just before the final blow, bonked into Ellis' mecha and floated away, freed from Retal’s minds.
With what little control he had left, Ellis launched the remaining 65 missiles, spreading out to avoid a chain reaction, at the Core Fighter.

With what little control he had left, Ellis launched the remaining 65 missiles, spreading out to avoid a chain reaction, at the Core Fighter. OOC: The psycommu and the psychoframe are both mounted in the core fighter, Ellis. They are still under Retal's control. Otherwise, there would be no point in having the funnels attatched to the core fighter racks...but since I only have four remaining, it really doesn't matter much. The above is just FYI. IC: The missile barrage came on unerringly. Currently in a verticle climb, Retal had no worries. He simply opened up the beam machinecannons (they are mounted on the core fighter, not the Gundam itself) and pumped beams out ahead of him, detonating a few missiles coming for him as he continued to climb out of the reach of the cloud of missiles. He then continued to pump out beams in front of him, detonating more missiles, and when one got through that defense, he simply spun out or barrel rolled the core fighter out of the way of the missiles. Thus, without much effect, Retal cleared the missile swarm, and he had one last gift for Ellis to repay him for crippling his prized Gundam. "Leader funnels, get him!" The two remaining remote weapons, the leader funnels, deployed from the back of the core fighter, and raced off to make contact with Ellis's Black Sarena. And if they made contact, they would open up and deploy an electrically charged plasma cloud, similar to those used by the Adzam and Val Varo mobile armors to disable enemy units... Nothing personal, Ellis. But I want to make sure you are out of this fight. Don't want you double-teaming Van with your little monster of a machine. It would be rather unfair...I'm sure you understand... Retal thought to himself with a smile.

Ellis just folded his arms and took the leader attack. Just took it. It wasn't really all that bad, considering how the computer systems, internal mechanics and he himself were all quite safe. All Aestivalis are armored with not conductive ceramics and plastics, granted a good portion of his outer armor would be melted, but that's okay."Yeah, for whatever that's worth...." Once the attack had finished, Ellis reached up and pulled the bright red emergency lever, ejecting the outer layer or armor. That's right, outer layer. From within the Sarena came forth....Code name: Aestivalis Main Battle Frame KaiModel Number: Unknown Unit Type: Aestivalis Manufacturer: Unknown Pilot: NeoEllis Accommodation: pilot only for standard Aestivalis type, in panoramic cockpit in torso Dimensions: total height 6 meters Weight: Estimated Empty 5.0 metric tons Construction and Armor: Super hardened plastics and ceramics Power plant: Phase Transition Engine, power rating: Unknown Performance: maximum thruster acceleration 0.99 G; 180-degree turn time 0.5 seconds Special Equipment: Distortion Field/ feet mounted drive system, allows for greater ground maneuverability Hand Armaments: Gravity Blast Cannon x1, hand carried in use/ laser machine gun x1, hand carried in use, stored on back when not in use, active knives x2/ rocket fists x2 Meanwhile, the smaller missiles hand since used up their propellant -perhaps they had been sucked out side the colony by now- the 10 larger missiles continued to seek out Retal.

"Retal, I may need assistance, it looks like he is trying to get me into close combat!"-I say over the intercom... *I quickly use my thrusters to push me backwards and strafing at the same time from left to right while I ready my Buster Rifle.....* Retal sees the outer armor panels of the Black Sarena detatch. He hears Van call out to him. He knows it's time to go. "Van, form up on me. Let's get the hell out of here. Fall back to the next city at max speed, you should be able to outrun Aries. Until I can retrieve the Gundam, I'm effectively crippled. We need to regroup and come back with a unified front." Retal suits action to words and promptly returns to the inside of the conoly, recalling his four remaining funnels and heading back to the colony's next urban center. As he does so, a qickly assault by his two remaining fin funnels quickly obliterate the 10 missiles still following him, leaving him clear to retreat... "And just so Aries doesn't take advantage of my order to retreat..." Retal mutters to himself as he arms the beam machinecannons and aims directly ahead of Aries, pumping a volley of beams at his suit as he falls back... OOC: Be back in a couple of hours to finish this people.

Ellis watches Retal flee from the scene.
"Huh."
Ever cautious, Ellis turned to the now ideal Retaliation Gundam, annihilating what was left of it.
'Time for you to start pulling your weight', Ellis said to Aries over the comm, jokingly.

*Aries ducks, barely avoiding Van's cloud of fire, then killing his thrust before he burns into Retal's.*
*His eyes narrowed. While this does limit Aries's movement, it's not enough. The objective here is to keep Bozo up there tied up so he can't give Retal a hand. Retal without backup is a dead Retal.*
*He grins, as his Engrish begins thrusting to the left, escaping the imprisioning walls of fire. You should have picked some better backup, hotshot, he snarls inwardly.*
*As he escapes the prism of fire, his thrusters fired again, this time angling the tiger-striped Mobile Suit upwards. Both of his arms reached out as he came up at the WZO from below, the Gundam still occuipied trying to warm and unlimber its buster rifles. The Engrish's hands wrapped around the Gundam's ankles, while a set of rotations in the shoulders gained him a little leverage and another threw the Gundam like a rag doll to the building below, the impact sending a burst of dust and debris rolling outwards, clouding Aries's vision for a second.*
More like throw Aries's weight around, Ellie!!
