<As an observer, I need to say... Are you throwing the match here, NW? I mean, you said realistic duel. You'd be hard-pressed to find a person without the reaction time to avoid your attack and finish you off with an in-escapable attack.> (Not so at all. You see, Ai is attacking me, sending himself off balance and leaving himself open. We are, more or less, right "on top" of each other, me being below him and thrusting up. In reality, there is no true way that Ai can dodge it. It will work, but only because we're so close. It'd help if I could make a diagram, but I can't. When an opponent thrusts, it is very hard for them to cover themselves. This is even more so in Ai's case, as he is attacking with both arms, leaving himself totally open to my attack. I am not on my back. I'm actually in-between standing and lying. At the moment, I'd probably be at about a 45 degree angle.)

(Exasperating... I wish I could change my post to something that is less confusing to all of you... What you don't understand is that it is all about speed, a notion that does not easily translate into mere words. I'm doing this incredibly quickly, as that would be the only way to do it. Did I not say that it seemed that I was just "melting away"? However, I am not moving with inhuman speed. No, in fact, I am moving well within the limits of human agility... I've used this again-and-again, and it has pulled me through most situations very nicely. It is simply a concept that is not translatable...
Considering that I cannot find sufficient words for my action, nor can I make a sufficient diagram, I await Ai's ruling on what to do (being that he's both my challenger and a Mod.))

(I'll go with it. It's not an unbeatable attack.)
Ai's eyes go wide, as NM seemingly vanishes. He pulls back, taking a bound backwards at a high speed. He lets his chain loose wherever it may go, and pulls his knife with his now free hand. He takes a leap past NM, clear over him in his now downed state, and delivers a kick to the back of his head, on the opposite side of NM's thrust.

<Ah, Ai, but if you were in Aikido already*, you could make such a nice move out of that*. Me and NW are still discussing this*, though, in PMs, even though it doesn't much matter*.
*rephrased*>

(Eh? Could you paraphrase that? That "made no sense in my head". Besides,

(I'll go with it. It's not an unbeatable attack.) Ai lets loose a smirk, and flings his chain back towards him, and hits NM's knife loosely, smacking it into Ai's forearm. He takes a cut to it, and comes back with his dagger, and falls with his weight onto NM, bringing the dagger to his face.(That's impossible... I'm aiming for the middle of your breast as I'm going down, meaning that my strike will... connect lower. I'm still sliding. This means I haven't simply stopped. I'm sliding along the ground. My face has already passed your knife... This is all happening in a split-second. As you thrust, I "melt away". Now, your chain has just missed my head, and chains are not so easy to maneuver as often made out to be. To hit my knife, you would have to not only gather up your chain for another attack, but then change your level of swing, which is a tedious process. Then you'd have to draw your arm back in to fall upon me. You simply don't have enough time for that. And, I'm still moving, so don't thik you can fall and have me still be there... Damn. There's too many factors left, such as our speeds, which cannot be accurately determined in words, nor in a "reality" such as this one. Manae: After having a heated debate with my brother, I now understand what you're saying. Yes, an Aikido-(for lack of a much better word) user would take it as an open invitation to defeat me. In fact, many grappling masters would consider that a welcome invitation to my destruction. Now I know what it means to "not vary a winning combination"... If this were real, I could be dead right now...)

Ai smirks, and kicks heavily into the ground, scattering many peices of asphalt at NM. He repeats the kick, with his other leg, creating a mass of dust and shrapnel, Ai expertly throws his knife through the cloud, at NM.

I'm only on the border between white and orange and would take that as an open invititation to Kodagaishi, pin, and remove several key arteries.>

Ai smirks, and kicks heavily into the ground, scattering many peices of asphalt at NM. He repeats the kick, with his other leg, creating a mass of dust and shrapnel, Ai expertly throws his knife through the cloud, at NM. *By kicking up the cloud of dust, Ai has indavertantly blinded both combatants, making it so that he only has an approximate position of NM. NM uses his avaliable time to keep rolling, expecting an attack through the dust screen. However, he was not expecting a throwing knife. The knife flashes through the dust, gashing NM across the arm.* Ack! Damn! *NM back-hand-springs towards a nearby aluminum garbage can. Putting away his knife, NM takes off the lid of the garbage can and holds it before him.* Now the fight really starts...

As the dust thins and the shrapnel falls, Ai sees the glare of the lid as NM pulls it off. Ai slams his foot straight down into the ground, causing several pieces to fly upwards. Ai grabs the largest one, and hurls it over the lid, at NM, and begins a rapid dash at him.

*NM steps sideways to get out of the immediate path of the debris. As soon as the chunk is near, NM bats it to the side with the trash can lid, leaving only a dent because he did not hit the debris head-on. He readies for Ai's attack.*

Ai smirks, and delivers a spinning back kick to the can NM took the lid off of, and it goes flying in his direction. Ai stops abruptly after the kick, and makes a dash to NM's back.
